Walking up from Port de Soller roundabout on a small road, Carretera de sa Figuera, then on to a track. cami de Cas Bernats. This climbs the mountain with a lot of hairbin bends.
At the very end a short section saying private path, but to the side is a well used route and we went through anyway, and at the top met a group of spanish walkers in the opposite direction.
At a junction of tracks we turned right to go up to a coll and see the view north , before returning to the junction to go west, and go to the top of the mountain puig de Balitx. Also a large cave where we stopped for lunch. Spectacular views from the top.
The path onwards and down was very indistinct and some rough steep scrambles down. Back down to a track with keep out signs to the left. Then an easy track back to the port. Carrer de Belgica.
9 miles, 14km but a lot of climbing and very rough in places.
